China

Hi all, really sorry, lost kids and other leaders just after leaving station.  Good news though, I had all the cash and the weather in the Maldives is brilliant!

In reality though we are now checked into the Youth Hostel in the old part of Beijing and Martyn has organised breakfast for us tomorrow….really looking forward to meat pasties and boiled egg….good job there is an abundance of toilets on the wall!

This last week has flown by and I cant believe we are finally making preparations for a walk on the Great Wall of China tomorrow.  Seems like only yesterday we were making the presentation to all of you.

The Scouts and Explorers really appreciate your comments and are really glad you are looking at the pictures.  Home sickness hasn’t been a problem at all (sorry) and they are all full of beans especially when we fed them with KFC today.

Just in case you have picked up on the news that there is a Force 8 Hurricane in Hong Kong – we are not effected and managed to get away before it hit.

See you all in under a week (it can’t really be that quick, surely).  Great Wall, Forbidden City, Bird Cage, Water Cube, Terracotta Worriors (meant) and BP House in HK to go – in 7 days…blimey!

John

Hi John, glad to see you haven’t lost your sense of humour yet! We have to come down to the bar every night to get internet connection and log on to see and hear the latest updates. We cannot thank you enough for giving them all such a good time and huge thanks to Oli for this fantastic website giving us chance to see the piccies each night! Lovely close up of Adam today. Is it blurred or are we just too drunk?!! And why did Henry have to travel upside down? Is that economy class? Enjoy the Hike tomorrow. Looking forward to the piccies. Alison and Jerry

Alexander – The photographs are fantastic! We have been looking at the website and pictures everyday (so has everyone at the office!). We are so pleased that you had a great birthday celebration. We are thinking of you (and everyone) every day – it will be brilliant on the Great Wall! We had a nice meal out for Steven’s 21st Birthday and a day out for Mum’s Birthday (Mum says that she loves her present!). Enjoy the rest of the trip – look forward to seeing more photographs! Hi John
Pleased to hear that you haven’t lost anyone – yet!
If there’s any spare bricks on the wall I need just a couple to finish off the patio and they would make for really nice souvenirs.
Like you, can’t believe that the time is going so-o-o fast.
    See you soon

    Hello Ray Mears
Judging by the Wall it makes the Overland look like a stroll in the park!!
No wonder they say you can see the Wall from space. I looked at Google Earth – couldn’t see any of you.
